Letter to the President of Hampshire College

23 Nov

Recently Hampshire College in Massachusetts has instituted a policy of not displaying the American Flag.  If you are not aware of the situation you can read the info here

Soooooooooo, this is the email I sent to their president:

Dear President Lash,

Your institution has been in the news about what has recently transpired regarding the flag.

I will attempt to keep my comments brief.

Maybe it may seem “hokey” to you but many men and women have served under that flag, and many have paid the ultimate price.  I was fortunate, in that I returned from SE Asia.

One thing that the liberal snot nosed punks that attend your university seem to forget is that that flag represents the fact that they have the right to protest, to speak out, and yes, even to burn that flag.

Maybe individuals in your position need to take a remedial course in American history and pass that on to the students who attend your institution.  This may also sound hokey, but in how many other countries would the actions of your students, and your administration be tolerated?

Have a Happy Thanksgiving, that is unless you and/or your staff and/or students think that ii is a day that should not be celebrated.

Oh, this email will be posted at   Should you decide to reply, I will be happy to post it in the same place
